The great Charles Dickens was a punch enthusiast, and whenever he entertained guests, punch making was his favourite party ritual. While his original recipe, first penned to a friend in 1847, was made with rum, Dickens’s punch works just as wonderfully with arrack – considered by many connoisseurs to be the oldest rum in the world.
